With a bright blue stripes against a yellow background the Clown Tang is a striking member of its species. The Clown Tang is extremely active and requires highly oxygenated, fast moving water.
Like most Tangs, the Clown Tang can become territorial towards new tank mates, and even more so with other tangs in the Acanthuridae family.
Clown Tangs can be picky eaters and may take some time to become accustom to prepared foods. Once established it will eat most meaty foods, however it is important the Clown Tang’s diet consists of lots of seaweed and algae. This will ensure a strong immune system and is important for the overall health of the fish. Often HLLE (head and lateral line erosion) is associated with lack of proper amounts of seaweed in the diet of herbivores.
